British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health comes as the boxing community had expressed condolences for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
